Synopsis

Margaret, whom everyone calls Daisy, is a seamstress who spends her days drearily fixing clothes for other people. After her Grandmother Margaret dies she discovers a letter written two hundred years earlier by yet another Margaret. As she begins to read the letter she discovers a woman who’s struggles are not that different from her own. Margaret, like Daisy, was tied into a life that failed to honor her her deepest dreams and gifts. As Margaret reveals how she came to be seen, Daisy looks closer at her own life. She retraces the steps that forced her to abandon her dreams and led her to where she is now. Taking strength from what both Margarets have left her, she moves toward bringing her dreams to life once more. But to do so means facing a paralyzing fear. Is it better to stay silent but safe or to speak what we truly feel and risk everything? My Dearest Margaret is a close up look at two woman who must decide this for themselves.

A film by Anna Horst. A letter from the past may change her future.
